ENAMELIST: Emotional Architecture for Contemporary Dental Care
“An exploration of stillness, sensory restraint, and the emotional atmosphere of contemporary dental care.”
Throughout the project, atmosphere is approached as a form of sensory regulation — where material warmth, controlled acoustics, softened reflection, and measured transitions unfold gradually throughout the environment. Developed in collaboration with architect Ferron Collette, the interior architecture embraces restraint over visual excess, allowing the space to feel composed, intimate, and psychologically grounding. Influenced by the anticipatory tension often carried into dental environments, the project explores how architecture can soften sensory overstimulation and reshape the emotional experience surrounding contemporary dental care. Rather than separating treatment from atmosphere, Enamelist approaches the clinical environment as something emotionally inhabited — where calmness, reassurance, and trust emerge through spatial presence itself.
